What is a distance-learning course?
Courses are delivered via a learning management system (LMS) called Canvas. Canvas is a web-based tool allowing you to do your work, watch course videos, and communicate with other students and the PCC distance-learning office all within one area.
These courses provide a traditional classroom experience without leaving your current ministry or full-time employment.
Who should take distance-learning courses?
Self-motivated individuals who are independent learners are ideal distance-learning students.
How do I find out what courses you offer?

What delivery formats are available for distance learning?
All courses are now delivered via Canvas, a web-based learning management system.
What are the computer requirements for streaming courses?
Courses may be viewed via a Mac or Windows computer. High-speed Internet access of 1.5 Mbps or higher is recommended. Adobe Flash Player and Silverlight may be required for viewing videos and course material. If your computer does not currently have these programs installed, you will receive a message asking if you want to download them. There is no charge for downloading these programs.

How do I get started?
You must apply for admission to PTS and
receive final acceptance before registering for a distance-learning course. You may apply online or print out the application PDF and submit it by mail.
How many distance-learning courses can I take at one time?
You may register for up to three courses per term.
How long do I have to complete my course?
Courses are completed during a 15-week term (fall, spring, or summer). See Dates and Deadlines for specific registration
and term dates.
Will I have quizzes, tests, papers, etc.?
Yes, you will complete the same coursework as on-campus students.
Will I need a proctor?
Yes, you will need to find a proctor who will administer and supervise your quizzes and/or tests. Your proctor must be a member of the local church pastoral
staff (pastor, pastor's wife, associate pastor, youth pastor); deacon; church secretary; or a member of the administration, faculty, or secretarial staff
of a Christian school.
How do I register for a course?
After receiving final acceptance, go online to register for your course.

Can I earn a degree entirely by distance learning?
Two degrees may be completed entirely online: Master of Arts degree in Bible Exposition and the Master of Ministry. More courses are being prepared and will be made available soon.
How do I purchase textbooks for a course?
Textbooks can be purchased or rented through the Campus Store by calling 1-800-722-3570 or via e-mail to email@example.com.
